The light detecting element collects scattered light intensity in real time. When air flows through the sensor cavity, the particles in the cavity air cause laser scattering. The light detecting element collects the change in scattered light intensity. The microprocessor calculates the equivalent particle size of the particles and the number of particles of different sizes per unit volume based on the Mie (MIE) theory.
